NLK11: Sandakan Heritage Day Trip (Ex-Sandakan)


Pick-up at 0800hrs from airport or hotel in Sandakan and begin exploring the Sandakan Heritage trails. Transfer to the town mosque or Masjid Jamek. The mosque was first opened by the Muslim Population.

Drive to the Sandakan Toursist Information Center and then the Sandakan Heritage Museum. The museum was declared opened on 5th December 2003. The museum is situation on the first floor of the Wisma Warisan building, the same building where the Tourist Information Center is located. Drive to the William Pryer Momument or fountain made from a granite structure that was erected named after in honor of the founder of Sandakan William B. Pryer.

Drive by the Stair with 100 steps. The steps lead to the Agnes Keith House. The house is named after the famous author of such notable books as “Land Below The Wind” and “White Man Returns”. Today, the house has been transformed into a heritage site, providing intellectual insight to life as it was during the time of the British North Borneo.

After departing the Agnes Keith House, you will drive pass the remains of the Old Stairs.

Drive to the St Michael Church. The church was constructed by Reverend Henry Elton which lasted from 1893 to 1906. The church was the first stone building erected in Sandakan, where the stones have been speculated to come from the nearby Buli Sim-Sim.

Pass by the Malaysia Fountain which is located on one of the roundabouts of the Sandakan streets. Then proceed to transfer either to the Sandakan Airport or any hotel in Sandakan.

• In cases of natural calamities like flood, rain, land slide etc, NO REFUND will be given back to client(s) after the commencement of tour pick up.
