2D1N IN SEARCH OF SEA TURTLES ON LIBARAN ISLAND (EX- SANDAKAN JETTY)

Meet at Sandakan Yacht Club, Sandakan. Register and stand by for departure.

2) 11:00 hrs
Enjoy a 45-minute scenic boat ride heading north to Libaran Island.
Arrive at Walai Penyu Conservation Park and be greeted by an honorary wildlife warden.
Welcome drink, orientation briefing, and check-in to your glamping accommodation.
Free and easy time.

3) 12:30 hrs
Lunch.

4) 14: 00 hrs
Free and easy. Depending on the water level, you may go snorkeling (chargeable).

5) 15:00 hrs
Join an honorary wildlife warden for a tour of the AquaGoat sea turtle hatchery, where you will learn about the sea turtle life cycle.
The hatchery was sponsored by a US-based cryptocurrency company, AquaGoat Finance.

After the hatchery visit, continue to Libaran Village:

• Meet local residents
• Learn mat weaving with the Arsia family
• Create plastic flowers from recycled bottles
• Try cooking Kuih Pinjaram, a traditional Bajau dessert
  You may also purchase a fresh coconut to enjoy.
  Return to Walai Penyu Conservation Park as the sun begins to set.

6) 18:00 hrs
Opportunity to release baby turtles* while enjoying the sunset.
Freshen up with a hot shower.

Note: Turtle release is NOT GUARANTEED as it depends on hatchings.

7) 19:00 hrs
Dinner, followed by a documentary screening about Walai Penyu Conservation Park.
Meanwhile, wait for the honorary wildlife warden to call for any turtle sightings.
Although turtles frequently land on Libaran Island, sightings are NOT GUARANTEED, which is why continuous conservation efforts remain vital.

8) 22:00 hrs
Overnight stay – camping style (2 persons per tent).
