Kinabatangan River Cruise Half Day

1) Airport Pick-Up (For flights arriving before 1100hrs)

10:30 hrs – Pick-up from accommodations in the Sandakan area.

11:45–12:00 hrs – Pick-up from accommodations in the Sepilok area.

Along the way, there will be stops to pick up other guests and a visit to a local restaurant where you can buy food, drinks, or use the washroom.

After all pick-ups, proceed to Tanini Kinabatangan.

2) Arrival at Kinabatangan

15:00 hrs – Arrive at Kampung Bilit Jetty.
Take a short 3-minute boat transfer to Tanini Kinabatangan. Upon arrival, our friendly staff will greet you, and welcome drinks will be served.

Please be at the jetty by 16:00 hrs for the river cruise.

3) Afternoon River Cruise

16:00 hrs – Wear your life jacket and begin your river cruise along the Kinabatangan River in search of wildlife and birdlife.

You may spot at least 6 species of primates, including:

• Proboscis monkeys
• Leaf monkeys
• Long-tailed and short-tailed macaques
• Gibbons
• Orangutans

During certain seasons, you may also see Borneo Pygmy Elephants along the riverbank.

Bird sightings may include:

• White egrets
• Oriental darters
• Rhinoceros hornbills
• Buffy fish owls

4) Dinner & Departure

18:00 hrs – Return to the lodge, where a delicious dinner awaits, surrounded by the secondary forest of Kampung Bilit.

20:00 hrs – Transfer back to your hotel in Sandakan.
